The DIRECTOR
ATIRA (Ahmedabad Textile Industry Research Association) was founded by some of the biggest visionaries in India's textile industry: Or Vikram Sarabhai & Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai. The institute, among many of its other areas of research, also focuses on creative applications for the textile industry. In the recent past, ATIRA has been appointed by the GOI as a Centre of Excellence lor Composites, GeoTextiles & Nano Technology. The institute is also associated & has collaborated with some of the most reputed international textile R&O institutes in Germany & the UK. ATIRA is aiming for multifaceted growth. We have team of young, dynamic & qualified professionals and are now looking for a DIRECTOR - to head its operations. The Director shall be responsible for driving and delivering on the vision of ATIRA as a pioneering centre of excellence in research & commercializing cutting edge technology, innovating advanced material solutions for specific applications in textiles, driving advanced research on new age manufacturing processes for textiles amongst many others.
Reporting into the Council of Administration for ATIRA, the position is based at Ahmedabad,m a large, lush green campus right in the heart of the city. The ideal candidate for this role should come with the following:
• 20+ years of strong experience across academia and industry in heading / running enterprises of a similar nature with international exposure to industry/R&O/scientific work and proven administration experience
• PhD in textile/chemistry/chemical engineering or any other material sciences
• Publications in scientific/international journals and or patented/ patentable research work to credit
• Flair and passion for research and development and on working on disruptive and emerging technologies
• Proven leadership (Leading-from-the-Front & "Together-we-can-do more"(abilities with sharp commercial acumen
