What is Buddha Fellowship ?
Buddha Fellowship is designed to foster entrepreneurship and leadership among the brightest minds from the IIM’s and IIT’s. This life-changing two-year program grooms fellows for a rewarding career in social enterprises and transforms them into ‘Development Entrepreneurs’.

Why to apply for a Buddha Fellowship?
Top Engineering and MBA courses give you knowledge to run an enterprise. But these programs are not designed to produce ‘Entrepreneurs’. We invite you to take an Entrepreneurship journey with us and apply your skills to solve rural India’s problems. Taking risks to drive profits would be the essence of this fellowship but the enterprise’s ability to benefit the serving community would be the parameter of its success.

Why Buddha fellows work in Rural areas ?
In today’s business, the Financial bottom line is hugely impacted if the product’s impact on society is negative. The bottom half of our society - mostly composed of rural poor - have been crippled by structural inequality, preventing this section of the society from enjoying a proportionate share of the India's growth story. Urban development strategies - aiming for one size fits all - are being applied in rural areas by both the corporates and the government, resulting in a diminished return on investment. SRIJAN and many other non profits have established proof of concept for business success in rural/ semi-urban areas. To scale up the operations, the first batch of Buddha fellows is working in rural areas with the Governments and NGOs in North and East India.

What  is the USP of this Fellowship ?
You will get an opportunity to run an enterprise, bandwidth to apply innovations and freedom to dive into new markets. Our handpicked mentors bring decades of experience to navigate you through the uncertainties of the entrepreneurship and provide vital connections in your work area. You will get opportunities to present your work to the top policy makers and corporate personalities in India. We will do whatever it takes to help you succeed. But in case you fail, we will bear the loss as your learning cost. Either way, you will be remembered for the good work that you did for the community.
